“The Business Master 2019” held at DAVIET

Jalandhar, April 2, 2019: DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar in association with I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University has organized “The Business Master 2019”. A Platform for budding entrepreneurs to present their business idea and can get the consolation prizes worth up to Rs 1 Lakh. Also as DAVIET is the host institution for MSME in entire Punjab so 10 best Ideas will get the opportunity to apply for funding upto 6 lacs each under MSME scheme. This event proves to be important as it spread awareness about start-up ecosystem and scout aspiring and grass root entrepreneurs. The underlying objective of this event was to motivate the youth, create self-employment, upgrade the skills of entrepreneurs and provide them support to set up their units under professional guidance. This event will provide an opportunity to the youths to turn their innovative ideas into reality.The contest was open to students, corporate professionals, entrepreneurs, as well as other independent individuals and age is not a limit. This would go a long way in galvanizing the youth to take up self-employment ventures, which would eventually help in creating enormous job opportunities for unemployed youth. This event has reached out and sensitize more than 262 business ideas throughout India and this event was purely based on the skill and talent of students. Top 10 winners will get the consolation prizes of Rs 10,000/- each. The Name of Winners are Mohit Rana(DAVIET),Jatin Kumar Pawar(LPU),Anikesh Mahajan(CGC,Jhanjeri),Mohit Dahiya(LPU),Smily Sharma(APJ College),Ujjwal Vikas(Baba Hira Singh Bhattal Institute,Patna),Rohit Gupta(Entrepreneur),Prahalad Kumar Marandi(LPU),Prajwal Sekhri(DAVIET) and Lakshmi Thangjam(LPU). Mr. Sushil Prasharhead of Training and Placement cell elaborated the complete procedure of the event. He said that there will be 2 rounds and in round first each team will be given 8-9 minutes to present their ideas in front of the panel. And the best 20 ideas will be proceeding to the final round. Moreover he added that this event will lead to the encouragement of youth in becoming entrepreneurs. He said that people of all the age group are interested as mother and daughter has presented their ideas individually in this event. Dr. Manoj Kumar Principal of the college stated that this event will strengthen the start-up ecosystem in the state by offering attractive incentives to start-up besides creating incubators with plug and play facilities. He emphasized that this is purely based on the content presentation of the ideas and talent of the students without any formalities like inauguration.He gives best wishes to all the participants of this event. He changed the views of people who say that only those people should be entrepreneurs who didn’t get job and he gave the slogan that: “If you want to be rich, be an Entrepreneur.”
