VIGILANCE NABS ASI AND HEAD CONSTABLE ACCEPTING BRIBE IN TWO DIFFERENT CASES

Chandigarh: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption on Thursday nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and Head Constable (HC) red handed while accepting bribes in two different cases.

Disclosing this here an official spokesman of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Chain Singh posted at Police Station Sidhwan Bait, Ludhiana Rural was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Jaswinder Singh of village Pratap Singh Wala, district Ludhiana. The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused ASI was demanding Rs.10,000 for letting free his three tractor-trolleys to carry sand. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot accepting bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

In another case HC Jeet Singh posted at Police Station Lakho Ke Behram district Ferozepur was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Mukhtair Singh of village Aavan, district Ferozepur. The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused HC was demanding Rs. 3,000 to present challan of his case in the court.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused HC was arrested on the spot accepting bribe of Rs. 3,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that the corruption cases under Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against both the accused at VB police station Ludhiana and Ferozepur respectively and further investigation were under progress.
