Eminent overseas Punjabi Poet Avtar Singh Sahid interact with students and staff members

Jalandhar, November 20, 2017: The Centre for Migration Studies, Lyallpur Khalsa College organized a special program that saw eminent overseas Punjabi Poet S.Avtar Singh Sahid interact with the students and staff members. Dr.Sukhdev Singh Nagra Coordinator of the Centre for Migration Studies welcomed S.Avtar Singh Sahid to the institution and duly informed about his contribution to Punjabi Literature.
In his speech as the chief speaker, S.Avtar Singh Sahid discussed various facets of the his poetical creation and its numerous archetypes that shaped it on its way. Students also actively and curiously participated in the question answer session that followed. Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar Head, Department of Punjabi thanked Avtar Singh Sahid and informed about the purpose of the program for the knowledge of students.
College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra honoured Avtar Singh Sahid for his visit to the college and hoped that the students would benefit greatly from this experience.
The program was also witnessed by Sital Singh Sangha, Prof. Kulwant Singh Aujla, Major Salwinder Singh and the entire faculty of the Department of Punjabi.
