“Epilepsy Awareness Programme” to be held on Mar 29
Ludhiana, March 27, 2019: In the view of ‘International Purple day’ Department of Neurology will be organizing “Epilepsy Awareness Programme” on 29th March at DMC Auditorium College Campus. Ms Cassidy Megan (From Canada), Founder of International Purple day will be coming on the occasion to spread awareness regarding the epilepsy and will interact with the patients. Secretary Sh Prem Kumar Gupta said this event will also help to eliminate the myths and fear of epilepsy among the patients. Mr Gupta especially announced that “Apart from the patients, any one from the general public can participate in this informative event”. Dr Parvinder Singh Sidhu, CMO, Ludhiana will grace the occasion as chief guest. The management is part of Epilepsy Care. Management programmes funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMER). This half day teaching programme would be attended by an Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANMs) and Accredited social health activists (ASHAs) of Ludhiana district. Dr Gagandeep Singh (Professor & HOD Department of Neurology) said that this event will help to reduce the social stigma related to epilepsy and capacity building exercise to enhance the care for people with epilepsy in the community and manage their adherence to medications.
