WORLD HEALTH DAY QUIZ 2019 AT DMCH
Ludhiana, April 8, 2019: Department of Community Medicine, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, under the aegis of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM), organized the World Health Day Quiz on Monday 8th April, 2019 to commemorate the World Health day 2019. The theme of “Universal Health Coverage: Everyone - Everywhere” was unfolded by Dr Anurag Chaudhary, Professor & Head of the department. She stressed that Universal Health Coverage means all people and communities can use the comprehensive bouquet of quality health services they need so that it does not expose the user to financial hardships. Dr Sandeep Puri, Principal, DMC&H, congratulated the students and faculty for organizing this grand event. He highlighted that Ayushman Bharat is an initiative by Government of India in right direction to achieve “Universal Health Coverage (UHC)”. He also said that DMCH is committed to provide UHC through routine patient care in the hospital as well as the peripheral health centres. This was followed by quiz competition having five rounds conducted by the quizmasters Dr. SARIT Sharma, Dr. Sangeeta Girdhar, Dr. Mahesh Satija, Dr. Vikram Kumar Gupta, Dr. Priya Bansal and Dr. Surinderpal Singh. The winners of the quiz competition were students of MBBS Batch 2016 Chirag Gupta, Ankur Singla and Utkarsh Arora. They were awarded by Principal, DMCH. The uniqueness of this event was that, this quiz was conducted across the country in more than 350 Medical Colleges on same day with the same set of questionnaires and uniform guidelines by IAPSM.
