World Gatka Federation President Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, MP launching a first ever dynamic mobile Gatka application to promote traditional martial art globally through cyber world.

Patiala, January 9, 2014: World Gatka Federation President Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, MP, launched a first ever dynamic mobile Gatka application to promote traditional martial art globally through cyber world.

This mobile app was dedicating during three day 2nd All India Inter-University Gatka Championship at Punjabi University, Patiala in the presence of Vice Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh, Asian Gatka Federation President S.P Singh Oberoi, Gatka Federation of India President Harcharan Singh Bhullar, General Secretary Harjeet Singh Grewal along with management team of SoftProdigy namely Chanpreet S. Chawla CTO & Director and Sunil Thakral Managing Director.

Dhindsa informed that one of its kind this wonderful indigenous sports app has been devoted to all Gatkebaaz across the world who can keep a regular tab on their favorite sport and activities through their smart cell phones. "It envisages helping the youth to associate with this time tested sport and connecting to the Gatka community worldwide, while gaining inspiration to learn this ancient, culturally rich and powerful sport", he added.

Expressing his views General Secretary Grewal said that this free Gatka mobile app was jointly developed by World Gatka Federation and Gatka Federation of India. This application offers a quick and easy access to the essential information on martial art Gatka and the active promoters associated with this ancient art community worldwide.

This exclusive application was designed and powered by SoftProdigy, an emerging mobile app development company from the region. SoftProdigy directors Sunil Thakral and Chanpreet Singh Chawla described that this android mobile application boasts a contemporary colorful design having broadly divided into four sections namely history of Gatka, activities & events, photo and videos gallery where a user can download and share photographs, videos and latest news about Gatka game. Each page provides detailed information on all aspects of the sport–Gatka, an ancient Sikh martial art.
