World Asthma Day Celebrated at PU

Chandigarh, May 1, 2018: As a part of the Asthma awareness program, a street play was enacted by the research scholars of the Department of Biochemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh at the Government Senior Secondary School, Khuda Lahora.
The Chairperson, Prof.Archana Bhatnagar, had organized the event as part of her initiative "STEP UP and LEAD" where the faculty and students are involved in activities of societal cause – like street play and quiz.

Various reliefs to overcome Asthma were illustrated and role of nutrition, parents and physician was also emphasized through the play. The month of May is known as Asthma Awareness Month. World Asthma Day is celebrated all over the world to increase the awareness about the disease - its precautions and prevention.

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory condition of lungs that affects around 300 million people globally which commonly affects children.
