World’s first 3 wheeler hybrid car gets recognised at a Technical Festival in Punjab
20 Engineering students of CGC Landran sweeps Gold in all Categories at Inno-Tech 2019 Jalandhar, March 26, 2019: World’s first 3 wheeler hybrid car, ambulance drone, physical virtual trainer, border security device and a battery rental system has been developed by 5 teams comprising of 20 engineering students from Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran while participating in Inno-tech 2019. Inno-Tech is an innovative Program organised by Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala in collaboration with National Council of Science Museums, Government of India. Students from CGC Landran claimed 4 Gold and 1 Bronze under the themes Automobiles, Software, Mechatronics and Miscellaneous, by giving a clean defeat to teams from Thapar University, Chandigarh University, GNDU Amritsar, Lovely Professional University, GNE Ludhiana and others. Cash prize worth Rs. 50,000 was awarded to all winning teams for their innovative progress. World’s first hybrid car, an impulsive idea of a 3-wheeler car or Hybrid Tadpole Trike with 2 front tyres and 1 back tyre has been developed by Sanidhya, Rishabh, Rytham and Prasoon Mechanical Engineering Students of CGC Landran from a grant of 75k received from Department of Science and Technology. The students recently claimed 1st position in the Automobile Category. While briefing about their idea, Sanidhya said, “The car can be run on 3 modes; electric, engine or a hybrid of the two which could be utilised as a family as well as sports car” Being taken aback by the Kedarnath calamity which took the lives of 197 people due to the flash flood followed by limited availability of medicine and food supplies, CGC Landran Mechanical Engineering students Gavakshit, Nikhil and Ankit developed a 20km long range and cost effective drone which can carry 3kg of weight reducing human loss. They received Gold in the miscellaneous category. A Patent for the same has also been filed by the students. Another team won Bronze in the same category for coming up with the idea of a border security device. The Mechatronics Category was dominated by 3rd year Mechanical Engineering students Naman, Hritik, Harvinder, Amreen, Mrityunnjaya and Mohd Jafar for devising a unique idea of renting the battery where the charge/discharge history will be specified using IOT Technology. The Smart Battery Rental System will favour e-mobility of two-wheelers over conventional fuel scooter. Another team comprising of Kashish, Vishal, Nikhil, Lakshay and Sagar won the software category for their creative and effective idea of Physical Virtual Trainer to be utilised in Health & Fitness Sector.
