CTU students hold awareness rally to encourage bystanders in helping road accident victims
Ludhiana, January 30, 2019: In a way to protect ‘Good Samaritans’ and encourage bystanders to help road accident victims, CT University’s School of Law organised a rally in Jagroan for making citizens aware about ‘Rights of Humanitarian’. The key objective of this rally was to spread awareness regarding the Supreme Court recommendation that the people who help victims of accident would not be charged with any civil or criminal liability. Elaborating and addressing the rally, Dr Gurpreet Kaur, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jagraon, said “The civilians who help the road accident victims have full right to extend their helping hand. There would be no discrimination or harassment by the police and even doctors cannot say no to the treatment. Moreover, no civil or criminal charges would be posted against the helper. If any of you come across this situation, feel free for the humane cause of help.” The students of CT University marched peacefully for a noble cause. Vice Chancellor, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, said that such information must be passed on for a humane cause. Every individual must extend their help for victims without thinking about any negative consequences. The rally had been an exposure for the students and civilians. He thanked the officials and citizens.
