Workshop on Sustainable Skill Development

Shimla, April 6, 2017: A two days workshop on 'Sustainable Skill Development' organized by National Child Right Protection Commission in collaboration with the Directorate of Women & Child Development under HP Social Justice & Empowerment for the staff of Bal-Balika Ashrams and the office bearers under Integrated Child Protection Scheme was inaugurated by Smt.Rupa Kapoor, Member of National Child Right Protection here yesterday. The theme of workshop was ' Child Right-A Preview'.

Principal Secretary (social Justice and Empowerment) Smt. Anuradha Thakur stressed upon the need to know about the psychology of children of Bal-Balika Ashrams. She also detailed about the departmental activities in this behalf and highlighted the significance of child counseling.

Dr. Nimesh G. Desai, Director of National Human Behavioral & Allied Sciences New Delhi highlighted various aspects related to mental health in Child Protection Institutions. Dr. Adarsh Kohli from PGI Chandigarh gave his presentation on child counseling.

Associate Professor IHBAM Dr. Ashish Khanna detailed about victims of child abuse & levels of care and children with disability through role play.

Dr. Vishvadeep Chaterjee, Prof. AIIMS Delhi discussed on the care and rehabilitation of the children indulged in drugs.

Director social Justice and Empowerment Smt. Mansi Sahai Thakur presented vote of thanks. She asked the participants for effective implementation of provisions of POCSO and Child Rights Act in their respective areas.

Certificates were also distributed to the participants on this occasion.
