Woman strangled to death in Delhi

New Delhi, May 12 (IANS) A woman was strangled to death by a relative after she turned down his marriage proposal here, police said Monday.

The parents of Neha, 19, spotted her body lying on the ground in her Krishna Nagar home of east Delhi. A plastic rope was found tied around her neck suggesting she was strangled.

She was alone Sunday evening when the incident happened.

Neha's parents told police that a relative, Pappu, 22, used to stalk their daughter and he also proposed to her.

They said he killed her after she spurned him.

During investigation, police found Pappu was the last person seen visiting Neha. They added he was absconding from his home.
