Shri Machhiwara Sahib, November 25, 2015: A woman was killed in a road accident on Machhiwara-Rahon road at village Udhowal Kalan, near Machhiwara. The deceased was identified as Pooja(38) a resident of village Udhowal Kalan.
As per information husband of the deceased is running a tea stall near the village and she had gone to meet her husband regarding some work. When she was returning and crossing the road after meeting her husband suddenly a truck mowed her under the truck and she died on the spot.
As per Sikander Singh, SHO, Machhiwara they had registered a case against truck driver in this regard who escaped the site after accident. SHO said that the concerned truck was impounded and the body of the deceased was handed over to her guardians after post mortem. / (SK Shourie, Khanna)
