White Paper regarding failures of previous government will be issued soon: Rana Gurjeet Singh

Kapurthala, May 16, 2017: Punjab Irrigation and Power Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh has said that Punjab government would issue a white paper soon to expose the failures of the SAD-BJP government.
Dismissing the SAD-BJP alliance’s demand of issuing white paper based on the economic situation and development issues, Rana Gurjeet Singh said that the people who destroyed Punjab during last 10 years have no right to speak on such issues and they should remain silent.
Interacting with media during his visit to Kapurthala, Rana Gurjeet Singh said that one could easily guess the failures of last government by comparing the level of debt in 2007 with present debt on the state.
Describing the ban on tubewells in Sangrur as a matter of concern, Irrigation and Power Minister said that the government is working to resolve this issue at the earliest. At the same time, he expressed concern over the falling ground water level in Punjab.
Replying to another query, Rana Gurjeet Singh held previous Akali-BJP government responsible for shutting down the free power supply to Gaushalas in the state. He said that the previous government gave free power without any policy and hence the failed to provide necessary cess to power department, which was to be collected by municipal councils and corporations. He said that the matter has been brought to the attention of the Chief Minister and it would be resolved soon.
Rana Gurjeet Singh also condemned the assault on Shaheed Kulwant Singh's brother. He held gangster groups emerged in the state during last 10 years responsible for this unfortunate incident. He clarified that the situation of law and order in the state would not be allowed to be affected in any situation and strict action would be taken against the culprits responsible for the incident.
