Ludhiana, November 10, 2013: Under the aegis of Ludhiana Obstetrician and Gynecological Society , ‘web based’ two day conference ( 9 and 10 November )has begun at SPS Apollo Hospital Ludhiana .It is a live telecast from Bengaluru under the banner of “The International Institute for Training and Research in Reproductive Health” . Conference showcased latest trends and techniques in the field of infertility and high risk pregnancy. Inauguration ceremony and lamp lightning was performed by Jugdiep Singh Managing Director, SPS Apollo Ludhiana ,along with Dr. Neelam Sodhi, President, Dr. A S Rattan Hon secretary ,Dr. Saroj Aggarwal and Dr. Vidhu Modgill infertility specialist of Ludhiana Obstetrician and Gynecological Society (LOGS). Approximately 112 gynecologists from different parts of Ludhiana and adjoining areas participated in the live web conference.
To boost the spirit of Ludhiana Obstetrician and Gynecological Society, on behalf of SPS Apollo hospitals, Jugdiep Singh presented a donation of Rs. 50,000 for the E – Library at LOGS. This is for the very first time in the region that any society will have this kind of E Library.  All the participants were happy for this web conference initiative taken up by LOGS and want to continue such endeavors in future too; as such efforts save time money and keep the doctors abreast in their field.
The highlight of the conference was the presentation by Dr Carlos, from Spain, on use of stem cells in regeneration of endometrium to improve results in infertility.
Another aspect discussed was declining fertility in this age, as the deteriorating environment, addiction, genetically modified food, cosmetics and skin products play havocespecially in this part of the country. In high risk pregnancy, frontiers of fetal therapy were discussed Dr. S Suresh.
