Sangrur/Chandigarh, December 6, 2012:The Indian Women Kabaddi brigade, consisting of 19 players, cleared the dope test whereas out of remaining two men Kabaddi player, one player also passed this test.

This was disclosed by  Sikander Singh Maluka, President, Punjab Kabaddi Association (PKA) and Senior Vice Chairman, Administrative Committee of 3rd World Cup Kabaddi-2012.

Divulging the details of the dope test, Maluka said that the samples of 27 men Kabaddi players of India were taken for dope test, the result of 25 players have been announced a day earlier. “It is matter of Pride and great relief for India that all the Indian Kabaddi Players including Men and Women cleared the dope test”, he added by saying that the result of only one men player is awaiting.

PKA President said that it was the decision of Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab that only those players would be allowed to play in Indian team, who would clear the dope test. Working on this resolution of Punjab Government, the samples of Indian men and women Kabaddi players were taken for the dope test, he added. Mr. Maluka further said that the dope test regime would be strictly implemented on rest of the sports in Punjab so as to realize the motto of this World Cup Kabaddi-2012, “Kabaddi Nu haan, Nasheyaan Nu Naah” (Yes to Kabaddi, No to Drugs), in true spirit.
