Assures industrialists of revival of industries on priority basis once in power
Ludhiana, October 31, 2016: The Punjab Congress on Monday promised to fulfill the long-pending demand of industrialists to set up Vishwakarma Bhawans in all industries cities of Punjab, while assuring the community of urgent measures, once in power, to revive all industrial units shut down during the Akali rule.

Addressing the Vishwakarma Day celebration at the historic Vishwakarma temple in Millerganj here, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) Senior Vice President Laal Singh said the party was cognizant of the longstanding demand of industrialists for setting up Vishwakarma Bhawans in all industrial townships. The Congress would address this demand on priority basis as soon as it comes to power, he said.

Laal Singh lashed out at the Akali government for throwing the state into financial crisis during its nine and a half years of rule. “As per the information available under RTI, as many as 18,700 industrial units have been shut down in the last nine and half years of the Akali-BJP rule. The Congress would will definitely take steps to revive the dying industry of Punjab,” said Laal Singh.

The PPCC vice president also expressed serious concern at the large-scale unemployment prevailing in the state and said the next Congress government would ensure employment in private companies for the unemployed youth in the state.

Paying rich tributes on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Vishwakarma, Laal Singh read out a message from PPCC president Captain Amarinder Singh conveying his wishes to all on the occasion.

Laal Singh expressed anguish at the shabby condition of the Vishwarkarma temple, assuring renovation by the next Congress government in the state.

The function, organized by the Congress state general secretary Amarjit Singh Tikka, was attended by a large number of industrialists. On the occasion, Laal Singh distributed sewing machines to 11 widows.

The PPCC senior vice president also honoured industrialists Manmohan Singh Ubhi, Charanjit Singh Vishwakarma, Inderjit Singh Navyug and Surinder Singh, Amritpal Singh Chachar and Tarlochan Singh Safri.
