VEER NARI MEET ORGANISED
Jalandhar, October 22, 2018: Veer Naris today form a sizeable part of the Military fraternity in the country. In keeping with the rich traditions of the Indian Army a Veer Nari Meet was organized by the ‘Dera Baba Nanak’ Brigade’. The aim of the meet was to reach out to the Veer Naris of Gurdaspur district and make them feel proud once again of their deceased spouses for their services to the Indian Armed Forces. The rally was attended by Brigadier R Sundaram, Station Commander and Brigadier M S Sabarwal, Commander Dera Baba Nanak Brigade. They conveyed the gratitude of the Nation and the Armed Forces to the Veer Naris for their bravery and sacrifice and reiterated the Army’s commitment of providing all possible assistance and timely redressal of their grievances. The army had set up a number of stalls to render assistance on matters such as pension, health, education, recruitment and personal records to resolve their problems and to spread awareness about the various rehabilitation and welfare schemes for the Veer Naris, and their dependents. A medical camp with fully functional medical gadgets for treatment of patients was also organized. The Veer Naris were assured of all assistance by army in reaching out to them and resolving their issues on a regular basis. By caring an extending assistance, the Indian Army has shown that the epithet ‘We Care’ for our Veer Naris goes beyond the Olive Greens.
