Various programs organized on occasion of swachhta pakhwada in RCF Kapurthala
Kapurthala, October 2, 2019: Various programs were organized on the occasion of Swachhta Pakhwada today on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. The campaign commenced with Swachhta Pledge at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Stadium, RCF where General Manager of RCF Ravindra Gupta, Neeta Gupta, President, Women's Welfare Organization, All HODs of RCF, Officers, Employees, their family members, Players, Scouts and Guides, Children assembled with great enthusiasm. On the occasion, Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri were remembered by Shri Gupta who called upon everyone to make daily cleaning of their workplaces and surroundings -a routine in their life. This was followed by a huge cleanliness awareness rally in the RCF colony which was targeted to create awareness about cleanliness awareness. Banners and posters were displayed in the campus and employees and their families, shopkeepers were educated about the importance of cleanliness. People were inspired to adopt cleanliness in life and stop the use of plastic. An exhibition match was played between the RCF men's hockey team and the Indian Railways team at the RCF Hockey Stadium to create awareness for health besides cleanliness in which RCF defeated Indian Railways by 3-0. There was also an exhibition of bags made of cloth to prevent the use of plastic, which greatly influenced and inspired the people. A thorough cleaning was also done in the workshop by RCF officers / employees. After the rally, Shramdaan was done in RCF's West Colony and extensive cleaning was done there. Tree Plantation was also organised here to make the environment green. RCF Women's Welfare Organization led by Neeta Gupta, President Women's Welfare Organization, distributed cloth bags outside the RCF and other places to prevent the use of plastic carry bags and make people aware of it. Swachhta Pakhwada is being celebrated in the entire RCF campus from 16 September. Banners were displayed in RCF Campus and pamphlets were distributed for awareness about cleanliness. Poster making competitions were also organized for children on cleanliness in the fortnight. Tree planting was also done at the inauguration of Kang Nursery at RCF.
