UNITED INDIA INSURANCE CO LTD CONDUCTS INSURANCE LITERACY PROGRAMME IN POLICE PUBLIC SCHOOL, BHAROWAL (LUDHIANA)

Ludhiana, October 3, 2016: United India Insurance Co Ltd., Ludhiana conducted Insurance Literacy Programme in Police Public School (Bharowal) Ludhiana on September 30 under Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme.

Dr.Surinder Kumar Kalia, (IPS), DIG, Punjab Police was Chief Guest and Sh.D.R.Bhatti, DGP (Retired) was guest of honour. As a part of this scheme, last week classes were conducted in the school on Insurance literacy, Road Safety and Traffic Rules etc.. Trustees of the school were also present in the function. Shri Angrup Sonam, Chief Regional Manager, United India Insurance Co Ltd., RO Ludhiana in his welcome address informed that upto 31.03.2016 in 180 schools the Insurance Literacy Programme has been conducted and 60 villages have been adopted under Rural Infrastructure Development Programme. He also added that during 2015-16 Rs. 5.36 crores have been spent on CSR Activities. For current year there is a target of implementing Insurance Literacy Programame in 50 Schools and a minimum of 50 villages would also be adopted under Village adoption programme. While speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Dr. Surinder Kumar Kalia (IPS) DIG Punjab Police, stated that the students should work hard for achievement of their goals. Everything is possible if students are sincere and dedicated . Sh D R Bhatti DGP (Retd.) also advised the students to be disciplined and career conscious.

A Quiz programme was conducted during the function in which students participated with great enthusiasm. Winners were given prizes by the Chief Guest. Toilet Block for Boys students has been renovated by the company by fixing modern sanitary fittings and tiles . This Toilet Block was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Kalia. Saplings were also planted by the dignitaries. Besides this Four Desert Coolers and Water RO system has also been supplied to the school by United India Insurance Co Ltd.

Under the supervision of Ms Kiranjot, Vice Principal, the children presented thoughtful cultural items including Shabads, patriotic songs, Choreography on the evil of dowry system and Gidha etc. Ms. Davinder Kaur, Principal of the school expressed gratitude on behalf of School students and staff for having chosen their school for Insurance Literacy Programme and providing other facilities in the school.

Ms. Shaveta, Dy Manager compeered the programme and Ms. Sandhya Pandita Admn Officer presented vote of thanks. On this occasion Mr. H S Bedi, Sr. Divisinoal Manager, Sh R P Sharma, Manager, Mr. Maithani , AM, Ms. Priyanka AO and Sh. Ramesh Sharma., Sr. Asstt were also present.
