Ferozepur, November 26, 2018: Sleuths belonging to Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab police nabbed two members of a gang who allegedly used to dupe army job aspirants on the pretext of providing job in the Indian Army.
Giving details, Baljit Singh Sidhu, SP (D) said that inputs were received by the CI wing that the accused Harmandeep Singh, resident of Village Ghaloti in Ludhiana district, Surinder Singh alias Shindu, resident of Village Hariau in Sangrur district, Gurmel Singh alias Malli, resident of Village Bakhera and Kulwinder Singh, resident of Village Fajli were running a physical fitness academy at Village Lehra Gagga in Sangrur district. “All of them were duping money from youngsters on the pretext of providing job in Indian Army. A case was registered against these accused by one of the victim Des Raj son of Raj Singh, resident of Village Gaggan Ke in Fazilka district at Ferozepur Cantt Police station under sections 420,380, 406, 120-B (Case number 137 dated November 24, 2018). “The accused Harmandeep and Surinder had demanded Rs.2 lakh and assured that they will help Desraj in clearing his test of army. They kept his matriculation certificate and the admit card with them. However, when Des Raj cleared his Exam on November 12, the accused denied to return his certificate and demanded Rs.2 lakh from him. Des Raj agreed to pay the money. However, a trap was laid by the sleuths of CI wing and two main accused Harmandeep and Surinder were nabbed from Ferozepur cantonment area. The original certificates of Des Raj were recovered from the dashboard of the Fortuner vehicle which they were driving (PB 13 BC 1048)”, said SP (D).
The SP (D) said that a manhunt has been launched to nab the other accused and very soon they will be nabbed.
