Two day workshop on `Reverse Paining’ at PU
Chandigarh, September 30, 2018: Department of Art History and Visual Arts, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized two days' workshop on 'Reverse Paining' which concluded, here today.The basic objective was to develop skills in younger hands and entrepreneurship in artists the Department collaborated with P-Square and Social Substance. The workshop was attended by about twenty participants and resources persons where they learnt this new and trending technique. It was firsthand experience for many in the field and they spent three hours each day to develop skills. The outcome was astonishing as this workshop brought out their hidden talent. They learnt about the difference between glass painting and reverse painting, oil and acrylic painting etc. Pragaya and Paras were resource persons for the workshop while Dr.Arun Bansal convened and coordinated. Prof Tirthankar Bhattacharya, chairperson of the department mentioned that he was all for the support of artists in any given way. He mentioned that this unique initiative of providing a stage to budding artists would go a long way in establishing outreach set-ups for Panjab University. He had the vision of bridging gap between artists and common masses.
