Ludhiana, April 17, 2015: A training camp of PAU Tree Growers Association was held at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) under the guidance of Dr R.S Sidhu, Director of Extension Education.
Dr RIS Gill, Head, Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, shed light on the management of agro-forestry during the summer season.
Earlier, Dr T.S. Riar, Programme Coordinator, welcomed the tree growers and highlighted the activities of the association. All the queries of the participants were addressed during the interactive session.
Meanwhile, Dr Sidhu informed a training course on “Eco-Friendly Substitutes for Cleaning and Shining of Household Items” will be organised for farm women on April 28 and 29. The home science experts will deliver lectures-cum-demonstrations on the preparation of liquid hand wash, tile cleaner, nail polish remover, furniture polish/cream, soaps and detergents, and other eco-friendly home cleaners, he said. Besides, trainees will be educated about the ill-effects of commercial cleaners on health, environment and cleaning surfaces, he added.
