Travellers and travel agents to breathe easy with association of travel agent fraternity to keep a watch

 

In an attempt to counter this reputation that the industry has earned, the travel agent fraternity of Ludhiana has come together in order to create a body, Ludhiana Exclusive Agents Federation (LEAF), with the view to provide a platform for suppliers including National Tourism Offices (NTOs), airlines, hotels and DMCs (Destination Management Companies) to promote their products and services more effectively in Ludhiana. 

 

"We have formed this body to give NTOs and hotel chains a platform to meet authentic agents for their deals. This will safeguard, not only the hotels and NTOs but also the individuals who take the services through these agents," said Gurjit Singh, Airnet Travels Pvt Ltd, President, LEAF.

 

Rupjeet Sagger of Sagger World Holidays, founder member, LEAF said, “While this body provides a platform for service providers to come together and have a better review of the market. We have certain norms for membership. Our mission is to create a conducive atmosphere in the Ludhiana travel agent fraternity”

 

"In order to achieve this we have incorporated a membership fee and will be conducting seminars as well. We have created LEAF because there is an urgent need for the Ludhiana travel fraternity, local industry and tourism suppliers to develop and promote the highest ethical and professional standards in the tourism industry. The core of our organisation is Trust, to Create Trusted Travel Partner Network in Ludhiana," said Bhupesh Kumar of Pristine Vacations, founder member, LEAF.

 

The Federation announced its formation at a function held at Sutlej Club on Thursday September 8, 2016. The founder members of the Federation are Gurjit Singh (Airnet Travels and Cargo Pvt Ltd), Bhupesh Kumar (Pristine Vacations), Rupjeet Sagger (Sagger World Holidays), Karan Khurana (Prime Leisure), Sailesh Dixit (Experience Factory Pvt Ltd), Maninder Saggar (Devika Travels Pvt Ltd) and Rajeev Manroy (RTS Holidays). The founder members of the Association have more than 100 years of experience between them.

 

Achinto Bose, Marketing Manager, Tourism Malaysia addressed the media and the associates at the event while Sandeep Dutta, Marketing Manager, Tourism Korea and Isra Stapanaseth, Director TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand), New Delhi too shared their valuable wisdom with the gathering.

 

“The objective of the association is to identify genuine travel consultants who are being endorsed and certified by various travel fraternities, airlines and international tourism boards with a vision to authenticate genuine travel partners who can provide best of the services to consumers. Soon we will be launching a website with the list of members,” added Mr Gurjit Singh.
