TRAINING COURSE FOR KISAN CALL CENTRE AGENTS CONCLUDES AT PAU

Ludhiana, August 1, 2016: A two-day training course for agents and supervisors of Kisan Call Centre concluded at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The course was conducted under the guidance of Dr R.S.Sidhu, Director of Extension Education, PAU.

Dr G.S. Buttar, Additional Director of Extension Education, PAU was the chief guest of the concluding session. He urged the trainees to pass on the knowledge about different aspects of agriculture to the farmers for their income enhancement and farm sustainability.

The Associate Director of Extension Education, Dr D.S. Bhatti informed the trainees about nutrient deficiency in kharif crops.

Dr Chander Mohan, Senior Extension Specialist (Plant Pathology), and Dr J.S. Kular, an Entomology expert, apprised the participants of disease and insect-pest management in kharif crops.

The PAU Agronomist, Dr A.S. Brar dwelt on agronomic management of kharif crops.

Dr Kulbir Singh, an expert of Vegetable Science and Dr Navprem Singh, an expert of Fruit Science delved on cultivation and problems of vegetables; and nursery and fruit production, respectively. The course was jointly coordinated by Dr H.S. Bajwa, Senior Extension Specialist and Dr T.S. Riar, Professor of Extension Education.
