Training Course On Crop Production Concludes At PAU

Ludhiana, March 31, 2016: As many as 41 rural youths from different parts of Punjab participated in the three- month training course on “Crop Production,” which concluded at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. The course was organized under the guidance of the Director of Extension Education, Dr R.S.Sidhu.
In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr P.S. Aulakh, Additional Director of Extension Education, exhorted the youths to make maximum contribution to the food grain bowl and reap benefit by following and adopting PAU recommended techniques and technologies. Later, he distributed the certificates to the trainees.
The Course Coordinator, Dr T.S. Riar said, “PAU holds the three-month training course twice a year. The course aims at educating the youths about agriculture and allied occupations.” During this course, experts dwelt on crop production, cultivation of horticultural crops, dairy farming, beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, and vegetable cultivation alongwith their insect-pest and disease management, he added.
Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Professor of Extension Education, while proposing the vote of thanks, said the trainees also visited farms of progressive farmers for practical exposure.
