Chandigarh, December 1, 2016: As per decision made during last PUTA Executive Council meeting, Panjab University Teacher’s Association (PUTA) President, Prof.(Dr.) Promila Pathak and its Secretary Dr.M.C.Sidhu today i.e. December 1, 2016 in its meeting, with Presidents of eight (8) unions/associations of Panjab University (P.U. Non teaching Employees Federation) i.e P.U.Staff Non Teacher’s Association, P.U.Press Workers Union, P.U.Lab & Technical Staff Associatiion, P.U.Stenographer’s Association, P.U.Library Staff Association, P.U.C Class Staff Association, P.U. Field Worker’s Union, and P. U. Driver’s Union, apprised them with the latest developments regarding the issue of financial crisis of Panjab University, following which discussions were made at length and they all felt seriously concerned. It was unanimously resolved to constitute a Joint Action committee comprising present PUTA President Prof. (Dr.) Promila Pathak, Secretary Dr. M.C Sidhu, other members of core committee recently constituted by PUTA[ (past 4 Presidents namely Prof. (Dr.) Akshaya Kumar, Prof. (Dr.) Rajat Sandhir, Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh and Prof.(Dr.) Mohammed Khalid] and Presidents of all these unions/associations namely Sh. Ravinder Mohan Trikha, Sh Mam Chand, Sh. Sanjeev Verma, Sh.Jasmer Singh, Sh. Davinder Singh, Smt. Krishna Kumari, Sh. Jaspal Singh and Sh. Ranjit Singh Rana who will meet shortly for further discussion on this matter.and other related issues. They will join PUTA in their all action plans including meeting the concerned officials of the MHRD and UGC at Delhi, and Punjab and UT Level at Chandigarh regarding the release of the pending grants of PU.
PUTA Executive Council during its emergency Executive Council Meeting held today i.e. December 1, 2016, further discussed this issue and chalked out the further action plan. As a part of this plan, Dharna is being planned on Saturday Dec 17, 2016.
