New Delhi, November 3, 2014: The Special Judge for CBI cases, Indore had convicted Shri Ram Jeevan Verma, the then Field Officer, State Bank of India, Jawahar Marg, Manawar Branch, District Dhar (Madhya Pradesh), Bhopal and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs.10,000.
CBI had earlier registered a case U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 on 21.06.2012 on the basis joint complaints. It was alleged in the complaint that accused had demanded a bribe of Rs.9000 for sanctioning a crop loan of Rs.3 lakhs in favour of one of the complainants and not creating any problem in repayment of crop loan.
After verification of the complaint, a case was registered by CBI and the accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe amount of Rs.9000 from the complainants.
After thorough investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet on 28.09.2012 U s 7 & 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Indore against Shri Ram Jeevan Verma, the then Field Officer, State Bank of India, Jawahar Marg, Manawar Branch, Manawar District Dhar (Madya Pradesh).
