New Delhi, August 1, 2014:  The Special Judge, CBI, Chandrapur (Maharashtra) has convicted Dr.D.K.Srivastava, then Medical Superintendent, WCL, Chandrapur and sentenced him to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.500 in a bribery case.
This was stated by the spokesperson of the CBI that a case  was registered by the CBI against  D.K. Srivastava, Medical Superintendent, Area Hospital Ballarpur Area, WCL, Rajura, District Chandrapur on a complaint  alleging that Dr. D.K. Shrivastava, Medical Superintendent had demanded Rs.3000 as bribe for referring his Medical case to Medical Board. After registration of the case, Dr. D.K. Shrivastava was caught red handed while demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs.3000/- from the Complainant. CBI had filed the charge sheet on 15.10.2004.
In another case, the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Visakhaptnam has convicted  Mool Chand Verma, the then Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Eluru, West Godavari District and sentenced him to undergo Simple Imprisonment for 3 years with fine of Rs.10,000.
The brief allegation of the case is that the accused  M.C.Verma, a formerly  Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Eluru, West Godavari District was caught red handed when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.1000/- from the Complainant who was a Sports Coach in the said school on contract basis, for accounting his working hours properly and to allow him to continue as Sports Coach on contractual basis.
In another case, the Designated Court has sentenced Pradeep Kumar, then Section Officer, SAIL, Ranchi who was looking after accounts work of SAIL Employees’ Consumers’ Co-operative Society Ltd, SAIL Township, Ranchi and sentenced him to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.10,000.
CBI had registered a case against the accused for demanding a bribe of Rs.8000 in lieu of making payment against supplies of consumable items made by the complainant.
The Trial Court found the accused persons guilty and convicted them.
