Hyderabad, September 30, 2016: Karampodi, the restaurant born out of passionate journey to revive some of the age old and forgotten homemade cuisines of Telugus bagged the Best Restaurant in Telangana Award from the Tourism Department, Govt of Telangana.

The Award was once again presented to Karampodi by Burra Venkatesham, Secretary Tourism, Goct of Telangana and Pervaram Ramulu, Chairman, TSTDC--Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation today and unveiled "Kakatiya Special Thali"

Speaking on the occasion, Burra Venkatesham, Secretary Tourism informed that Telangana State will come out with "Culinary Policy" very soon. TS will be the first state in the country to Announce Culinary Policy. The policy has been sent to the approval of Chief Minister and may be announced in November, he said The objective behind policy is to promote our state through its Culinary Arts, Festivals and Culture. We are also working on exclusive Telangana Restaurants by the private sector. We are also working on Designs of Telangana Restaurants. There are food joints various cultures such as Udipi, Kamath, Taj Mahal, Malabar and why not Telangana Restaurants, he questioned. Under this policy there will tax incentives for five years. In case of those restaurants, come up outside the state, they will be given cash incentives, Venkatesham said We would like see Exclusive Telangana Restaurants must come up all over the world, he informed. 99 per cent of the population of Telangana eats Non-Vegetarian food. And it is the only and fully no vegetarian in the country, he said.

On October 8, Maha Bathukamma Festivall will held at Lalbahadur Stadium, where 10,000 women will participate, he infirmed Burra Venkatesham appreciated the efforts of Karampodi in spreading Telangsna Cuisine. The Award was formally presented to Ajay, Shyam and Kiran, owners of the restaurant.

Pervaram Ramulu said Bathukamma Festival will be used to promote the state in a large way similar to what Balagangadhar Tilak did for Ganesh Festival. Telangana delicacies must be taken all over the globe, said Pervaram Ramulu.

Karampodi has become most popular for Authentic Telugu Cuisine not only with localy community but, NRI community.

In its journey to revived old traditions, it has developed well over 400 grandma recipes, standardized some and trimmed to 199 finally to offer to its discerning patrons The restaurant also offers, Non-Veg breakfast dishes.
