Majitha/ Amritsar, May11, 2015 : Bikram Singh Majithia, Revenue & Public Relations Minister Punjab graced the installation ceremony of  Tarun Abrol as the President of Nagar Council, Majitha, here today. He felicitated Abrol on assuming office and wished him luck.
Addressing audience on the occasion, Majithia thanked the people for reposing faith in SAD candidates which lead to victory of SAD candidates in 13 out of 13 seats. He thanked one and all and made a special mention of the Congress supporters who rose above the narrow parochial feelings and supported the SAD/BJP candidates for the development of the region. Giving a piece of advice to the newly elected members of the Council,  Majithia said that they should accord top priority to resolving the problems of the people and simultaneously work whole- heartedly for the development of the area. He assured all support from his end and added that it makes him feel much satisfied on reflecting over the sea change in the development scenario of Majitha since 2007.
Speaking on the occasion, the newly installed president of nagar council & the 4 time winner of nagar council elections, Tarun Abrol expressed his gratitude towards Parkash Singh Badal, Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia and added that he would earnestly dispense his duties and ensure teamwork for the development of Majitha.
Later listening to the problems of traders and farmers, Majithia ordered the officials to ensure prompt lifting and payment of the wheat. Talking to media, Majithia informed that government has so far procured 5 lack metric tonnes of wheat from the district but due to technical delay in the lifting process, the grain markets appear to have choked. He said that even the last of grains arriving in the market would be procured and timely payment of the same would be ensured. He reiterated that interests of farmers and traders would be looked into and dilly dally attitude of none of the officials would be tolerated.
