Speaking on the occasion, former minister Bikram Singh Majithia said the government had promised 60 lakh jobs. “This means it had to give one lakh jobs per month. The only job it gave was to the grandson of former CM Beant Singh”. He said the government was riding roughshod over everyone. Employees protesting for their democratic rights are being beaten. The common man has been forced to cough up an additional Rs 13,000 crore for power”. Former minister Bibi Jagir Kaur thanked the SAD president for reposing faith in her.
