Chandigarh , March 24, 2015: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the government would implement rotational posting system for SHOs, ASIs and Munshis in police stations to bring complete transparency in functioning of the police force.
Today replying to a questions raised by congress MLA Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa in the Punjab vidhan Sabha , the deputy chief minister said the Punjab government was committed to setting up a separate investigation wing in the State police.  He said separate SHOs and DSPs would be posted for investigation at police station and sub division level and the separate wing would start functioning from April.
He said it was also decided that the police officer who would register case would not investigate the same. He said this initiative would boost the investigation process and further provide justice to victims and sentence to culprits.
On the question on MLA Prem Mittal regarding the setting up of 66 KV sub-station near grain market at Mansa, Badal replied that the possession of the land for construction of the sub-station had been taken and boundary wall had also been constructed. Besides this he said all electrical equipments had been allotted and the substation was expected to be commissioned by 30 September this year.
The deputy CM, while replying to a question of MLA Surinder Singh Bhulewal Rathan said the State had also proposed to construct synthetic football ground at Mahilpur in Hoshiarpur  district and a case in this regard has been sent to the Union government under Urban sports Infrastructure scheme.
