Ludhiana, March 19, 2016: Students of the Department of Computer Science and Applications, Ramgarhia Girls College, arranged a fun-filled and dazzling farewell party for their seniors to bid them adieu. S.Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council, and his better half, Mrs Rajinder Kaur, Commercial Director, GS Radiators, presided over the event as chief guests. S. Manjit Singh M.S.S.S. chief patron Ramgarhia Educational Council and Former Principal of the college, Dr (Mrs) Narinder Sandhu were the guest of honour for the day. Principal, Dr (Mrs) Inderjit Kaur extended them a hearty welcome. An array of cultural items presented by the students added sparkle to the event. Students of BCA I presented bhangra on upbeat Punjabi numbers and a skit was presented by the students of B. Sc. Hallmark of the occasion was Ms. Farewell contest. Students of the final year donned in stunning attires and gracefully sashayed down the ramp. Loud cheers and applause resounded through the auditorium. The brains of the participants were put to test during the question-answer round. Ruchika was crowned Miss Farewell and, Gagandeep Kaur and Jugwinder Kaur were adjudged first and second runners up respectively. The chief guest and the guest of honour crowned the winners and appreciated Prof. R. D. Chawla, Head, Department of Computer Science and Applications, and his team for organising the gala event. While addressing the students Dr Inderjit Kaur said that every beginning has an end and every end leads to a new beginning and added that the outgoing students should brace up for the new opportunities awaiting them. Dr (Mrs) Narinder Sandhu averred that while retaining the values inculcated in them during their college span, the students should strive towards achieving higher goals in the coming phases of life. S. Manjit Singh gave his blessings to the students for better future. S. Ranjodh Singh talked about the prevalent scenario wherein the safety of girls is at stake and emphasised that for creating a respectful place in society, girls must learn to take a stand for themselves. S. Jagtar Singh, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council, wished the students good luck for their success in every venture they will undertake in future.
