Jalandhar, January 14, 2015: Student Welfare Association of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar took an endeavour to celebrate Lohri and Makar Sankranti with the under-privileged section of our society at Pingla-Ghar, Jalandhar. 45 students of the college initiated to share the moments of happiness with inmates of Pingla-Ghar. Students visited all the wards of this house and distributed sweets, eatables along with pens and note-books to encourage them to read and write independently. They also shared their views about the importance of studies with them. The whole team of Student Welfare Association soulfully sang traditional songs accompanied with dancing to interact with the inmates. Their efforts were rewarded when some of the inmates also responded by singing songs.

Principal Dr. Sucharita appreciated the efforts of the students and said such steps are essential not only to make our young generation aware of their responsibilities towards society but also teaches them to share the moments of harmony with the disadvantaged part of our society. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Sucharita congratulated Student Welfare Association team for their fruitful efforts to sensitize our new generation.
