Lucknow, April 7, 2017: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr.Yogi Adityanath has said that the state government will not allow any injustice to be done to the farmers. He also directed the NHAI and the District Administration to ensure adequate compensation, as per rules, to the farmers and other facilities.
He also urged the farmer community to adopt a practical approach and extend their cooperation to development works. The Chief Minister was today meeting a delegation of affected farmers of the Eastern Peripheral Expressway at his Shastri Bhawan office. He said that development opens new vistas which provide benefits to the whole region.
Mr. Yogi said new opportunities are also created which in turn benefit the next generation. For this, he underlined, works should be completed in a time bound manner. Any delays in these development projects put a negative impact on the economy. At the meeting, the farmers requested the Chief Minister to provide compensation as per the year 2013 Land
Acquisition law, provide jobs and other facilities, construction of service lane with the express-way and toll free movement of local people on the expressway.
The Chief Minister said under the Act, farmers were provided for more compensation so that they do not suffer in any way and can create alternate means of livelihood. He also supported the demand of providing toll free access to the local people and farmers and said that to provide hassle free commuting, service lanes should be constructed.
Mr. Yogi also said that dialogue shows the way and said that farmers whose ancestral lands were taken should be involved in talks. He also directed the district magistrate of Gautambuddhnagar to hold direct talks with the farmers and ensure that the NHAI project is on time. He also said that there should neither be discrimination with any one nor injustice.
Involving local people in development activities will boost development activities and will also encourage investment in the state.
Also present during the meeting were the Chief Secretary, officials of the NHAI and officials of the Gautambuddhnagar District Administration.
