Members of Prerna Association for Blind interact with SBS Campus Students at Ferozepur.

Ferozepur, November 24, 2015: Prerna Association for Blind an NGO from Pune whose main objective is to celebrate Diwali with our Soldiers and to interact with youth visited S B S State Technical Campus, Ferozepur and interacted with its students. Total team members of six visually impaired persons including one girl travelled hundreds of miles from Pune to this Border District of Punjab to celebrate Diwali and interact with youth.
 
“Prerna”, an NGO working for the visually impaired in Pune, has been ensuring that these youths celebrate Diwali with security personnel at various international borders of the nation for the last Forteen years.
 
During the interaction round with SBS Campus students, Dr. K. B. Patil, IPS, SP (Ferozepur Headquater) was Chief Guest. Col. Y. S. Rathore was Guest of Honour during this interactive session. Dr. K. B. Patil emphasised on amendments in our Laws and Government System for the benefit of these visually impaired persons. Col. Y. S. Rathore shared his personal life experiences to express his solidarity of emotions with this section of Society. He motivated the students of this Technical Campus to come forward for providing voluntary help and eyes donation for these visually impaired persons.
 
One of Prerna Association for Blind member, Mr. Sujoy told the gathering that they don’t need sympathy but to create an opportunity for them to stand on their own feet without any dependence.
 
Dr T. S. Sidhu, Campus Director; Sh. Gaurav Bhaskar, General Secretary Mohan Lal Bhaskar Foundation and Prof Gazal Preet Singh, Dean Sports & Cultural Affairs also interacted with students and motivated them for devoting their time, efforts and money to help these visually impaired persons. On this occasion many students took pledge to help visually impaired persons for crossing roads and for donation of their eyes. In the end, students interacted one to one with these six members of Prerna Group. They listened very carefully about the problems faced by these visually impaired persons. Students were highly motivated after the completion of this Interaction Round and while going back to their Hostels were found talking with their mates that they from now onwards they will regularly visit Blind Home in Ferozepur.
