SHOBHA YATRA ORGANISED ON THE OCCASION OF PARGAT DIWAS OF BHAGWAN VALMIKI JI
PEOPLE SHOULD FOLLOW FOOTSTEPS OF BHAGWAN VALMIKI JI: BITTU Ludhiana, October 22, 2018: Member of Parliament Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu today appealed everyone to follow the footsteps of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji. He was addressing the gathering on the occasion of Shobha Yatra organised on the Pargat divas of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji in different parts of the city today. The Shobha Yatra started from Daresi Ground and passed through several other parts of the city. While recalling the contribution of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji in the cultural assimilation of society, Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu said that Bhagwan Valmiki Ji was the “Pitaamah” of Sanskrit language and first poet or the Adi Kavi of the world who by his immortal and masterpiece composition the “Ramayana” propagated the message of victory of good over evil. He also said that great epic has from centuries taught the way of life to the people and has been a lighthouse of the ethical and moral living for the people which were far more relevant in the present materialistic society. He urged the people to follow the path and high ideals shown by Bhagwan Valmiki Ji so as to carve out an egalitarian society. He said that Dr BR Ambedkar also followed the footsteps of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji and worked hard to uplift the standard of living of weaker sections of society. He said that it was due to such efforts that everything in our country is done as per the constitution. He assured the gathering that the Punjab government is committed for the welfare of Valmiki community and Dalit. The Yatra was also attended by Cabinet Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MLAs Mr Surinder Dawar, Mr Raj Kumar Verka, MC Ludhiana Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu, Political Advisor to CM Punjab Capt Sandeep Sandhu, Commissioner of Police Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, DCC (Urban) President Mr Gurpreet Singh Gogi, BHAVADAS leader Mr Naresh Dhingan besides several others.
