SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY COMMITTEE (SAC) MEETING HELD AT KVK BATHINDA

Ludhiana, October 30, 2017: Scientific advisory committee meeting of KVK Bathinda has been held today i.e. 27.10.2017, in the committee room of KVK. Previous year progress report, future action plan and other major activities of KVK, have been discussed in this meeting. Sh. Diprava Lakra, Deputy Commissioner, Bathinda was the chief guest of the SAC meeting. The meeting was chaired by Dr. G.S Buttar (ADE) PAU Ludhiana and Dr. K. S. Thind, (ADR) PAU Ludhiana, Dr. Parmjit Singh, Director of RS Bathinda Dr. P. K. Arora, Director of RS Abohar, Heads of the allied departments, representatives from the departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and progressive farmers/farmwomen were present in the meeting to provide their valuable suggestions. The meeting was started with a welcome address by Dr. J.S Brar (Assoc.Director) KVK, Bathinda. He emphasized that KVK Bathinda is working as a bridge between the farmers and university to introduce the new agricultural technologies developed by PAU. He presented the previous year progress report. After a healthy discussion regarding the efficient working of KVK Bathinda, tentative action plan for the coming year was presented by Dr. APS Dhaliwal, Prof. (Animal Science) KVK, Bathinda, for suggestion and finalization. Dr. G.S Buttar and Dr. K. S. Thind, in their concluding remarks gave satisfactory answers/ suggestions after critical analysis and assured the house to incorporate their valuable suggestions in the future action plan as per the mandate of KVKs. To reach a wide spectrum of farming community, Dr. Buttar stressed on off campus and marketing related training programmes should be conducted. Dr. K.S. Thind emphasized on agro-processing. Whole team, along with staff of KVK visited the technological Park and various units of KVK and appreciated the work done for welfare of farming community. The stage was conducted by Dr. APS Dhaliwal, Prof. (Animal Science) later he also proposed the vote of thanks.
