Jalandhar, February 4, 2013: Reacting to a major road accident occurred on Jalandhar-Nakodar road on Monday, the Congress leader Sanjay Sehgal has said traffic police as well as the government was too responsible for these accidents.
In a statement here today, he added police was busy in collecting revenue for the government whereas Proper Thermoplastic Road Marking Paint was to be marked on roads as per specification. He said hoardings and banners should be banned near roads and highways.
He sought that school buses should be painted with bright yellow colour. Time punching of private buses should be discontinued as it is forcing the drivers to go at high speed, he said.
He said it should be ensure that the money recovered as Road Tax was fully utilised for the construction and maintenance of roads. He also expressed his sympathies with the family members of those who lost their children in the road accident.
