ROADWAYS EMPLOYEES threatens to intensify agitation

Ferozepur, February 9, 2013: Under Joint Action Committee programme, the employees of Punjab Roadways Ferozepur Depot demonstrated infront of the General Manager office to press for their demands which include regularisation of workers on contract basis, promotions in all categories, permanent recruitment of workshop staff, employment to the legal heirs of the deceased, stopping the contract system and recruiting the regular employees, merging of PUNBUS in the Punjab Roadways. 

The JAC leaders said that in case their demands are not accepted immediately, the employees will proceed on two days strike on February 21. 

Prior to this, the employees will also organise agitation on February 16 at Moga during the bye-elections being held at Moga to implement the agreement between the Punjab Government and JAC.
