Mumbai, February 26, 2016: Ola, India’s leading mobile app for transportation, today announced lowest fares for Ola Share in Mumbai and Pune. The Ola share fares are starting at just Rs.6 per kilometer in Mumbai and Rs.7 per kilometer in Pune, making it the most economical mode of personal transportation in the city. Ola Share is a new-age, convenient urban commute option, where a ride can be shared by up to three people at any point in time, making it one of the most fitting alternatives to personal car travel. Customers stand to save as much as 50% on the entire trip cost

Ishan Gupta, Category Head - Shared Mobility said, “With Ola Share, we are addressing the need for reliable and affordable mobility solutions, at scale. For users, there is the convenience of an air-conditioned cab ride at 50% of the fare, and an option to share it within identified social groups. Ola Share has far reaching benefits like reduced pollution and congestion free roads that result in cleaner and greener cities.” Ishan further added, “Through Ola Share and a host of other on-demand transport solutions, Ola is enabling access for millions of citizens and creating value for driver-partners, while furthering its mission of building mobility for a billion people.”

Using Ola Share - India’s first social ride-sharing platform; users who travel on the same routes can now share their cab rides with other users from social groups they are part of. All of Ola’s security features like Track your Ride, Share Ride Details, SOS, Emergency Contacts, 24x7 Customer Support and In-trip feedback are available for users on Ola Share. Customers can also choose to share rides with members of social groups they are part of, without having to share their ride with strangers.

Congested roads, ever increasing commute times, deteriorating air quality and increasing cost of ownership of private cars makes ‘Shared Mobility’ the future of commute across India. With Ola Share, colleagues from a workplace or friends from a college can come together to share rides amongst themselves. A user can join multiple groups or simply choose to share a ride with anyone else travelling on the same route . As soon as users request a Share ride on the Ola app, their requests are matched with that of other users from their groups along their way. On the other hand, driver-partners get an option to log onto the Share platform, getting instant access to increased revenue of up to 50%, through continuous fulfilment of booking requests.
