Resentment against shifting of polling booth of Chand Colony and Mehar Singh Nagar

Ludhiana, April 8, 2014: Residents of Mohalla Chand Colony and Mehar Singh Nagar here resented against the shifting of their polling booth to a distant place.
A deputation of the residents under the leadership of Com Randhir Singh Dheera submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer. He said that the venue for casting of vote have been changed from Sahiwal Public School to Veterinary Hospital in Dairy Complex Block – A, which is more than two kilometer from the present site.
He further said that due to this, the residents will find difficulty in casting their votes at the new site. This is contrary to the claims of Election Commission for providing proper facilities so that maximum voters can cast their right to vote. They once again demanded for shifting of the booth to Sahiwal Public School or nearby place.
