Kamal Sharma meets Union Railway Minister, raises issue of connecting Ferozepur-Amritsar

New Delhi/Chandigarh/Ferozepur, July 13, 2014: Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma on Friday met Union Railways Minister Sadananda Gowda in Delhi to express gratitude for providing record number of new trains from Punjab in the Union Railway Budget.

In a statement issued from Chandigarh party headquarters here, Sharma while thanking the union railway minister said that this was for the first time that Punjab has got such a major thrust in start of new trains.

The state BJP chief specially thanked the railway minister for starting of new train between Chandigarh and Ferozepur that was the long pending demand of the people of Ferozepur, Fazilka and other districts of south -west Malwa.

Sharma also apprised the Gowda the need to connect Ferozepur with Amritsar by setting up of new railway link.

“The Union Railway Minister has assured me to look into this demand on priority by paying special attention in near future,” he said.

Sharma assured that in future as well he would continue to raise demands of Punjab with the Union Ministers by visiting Delhi on regular intervals.

BJP Chief also met Human resources minister Smriti Irani & Power Minister Piyush Goyal during his visit to the national capital.
