Jalandhar, November 18, 2015: An Army Recruitment Rally is underway at Guru Nanak  Stadium, Kapurthala by Army Recruiting Office, Jalandhar Cantt.  This rally is for candidates of the Districts of SBS Nagar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur & Jalandhar.  The rally commenced on14 Nov 15 and screening of candidates will continue till 21 Nov 15.  Due to heavy presence of candidates of Hoshiarpur District screening for Hoshiarpur District is being done on Tehsil basis with Dasuya on 15 Nov 15, Mukerian on 17 Nov 15, candidates of SBS Nagar District and Kapurthala are scheduled to be screened on 18 and 19 Nov 15 respectively, screening for candidates of Jalandhar District was done on 14 Nov 15.
 
          Brigadier J S Samyal, Deputy Director General Recruiting (Punjab and J&K), while briefing at the Rally Site on 18 Nov 15 informed that the candidates are being screened for their physical and medical fitness.Total of 12000 candidates have already appeared in the rally.  Approx 1100 candidates have been screened on 14 Nov 15 from the districts of Jalandhar, 2400 candidates of Dasuya Tehsil on 15 Nov 15, 2600 candidates of Hoshiarpur and Garhshankar Tehsil on 16 Nov 15, 5000 candidates of Mukerian Tehsil on 17 Nov 15.  Today i.e 18 Nov 15 over 1700 candidates from SBS Nagar District have attended the Rally.  The rally has seen good response and motivated participation from the candidates.
 
          Successful candidates are undergoing medical examination by a team of specialized Army Doctors before appearing for written entrance exam.  Brig J S Samyal stressed that special effort was made to make all candidates understand that the recruitment process is fully transparent and automated and they should not fall prey to touts.
 
          More that 17000 candidates are expected to participated in the rally and enthusiasm shown by candidates has been outstanding.   1200 candidates have already cleared their Preliminary Physical and Medical Tests.
 
          The rally is being organized by Headquarters Recruiting Zone (Punjab and J&K) andoverall conduct is under Gurki Bde.  Brig J S Samyal thanked the Civil Administration and SSP Kapurthala for their support.
