Chandigarh, March 13, 2015: The Vigilance Bureau, Punjab achieved major breakthrough in its anti corruption case when a District Rural Industry Organiser was nabbed red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.7000.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that Kishan Das, District Rural Industry Organiser of Punjab Khadi Board was nabbed on the complaint of Lakhbir Singh S/o Darshan Singh of village Sarawan, District Faridkot. The complainant has alleged that Kishan was demanding bribe of Rs. 10,000 for forwarding his case of loan for subsidy to the Punjab Khadi Board. In his detailed complaint he said that he has applied for Rs. 3, 00,000 loan for setting up Steel Suturing Business and the officer was demanding a bribe of Rs. 10,000 for forwarding his case to the Punjab Khadi Board for getting subsidy of Rs. 1, 29,000. He said that the matter was finally settled at Rs. 7,000.
On the tip off provided by the complainant a trap was laid by the team of Vigilance Bureau under the leadership of Mukhtiyar Singh, DSP and Kishan Das was nabbed red handed while accepting bribe.
