Chandigarh, December 7, 2015: A delegation of parents of SC students met Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Higher Education, Mr. Avinash Chander and apprised him of the effect that some private colleges/universities of the state are not providing post matric scholarship benefit to SC Students and also harassing the students during semester exams by not issuing them roll numbers. The delegation also brought to the notice of CPS
that the erring colleges demand extra charges before issuing roll numbers.
The Chief Parliamentary Secretary, listened the delegation sympathetically and assured them for appropriate action against these private colleges/universities.
He directed the officers of the department to form teams and conduct checks on all the colleges regularly and supervise all the aspects and ensure strict action against the erring colleges.
