Chandigarh, April 17, 2017: In a spree to end corruption from Government offices, one of the promises made by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh with the people of the state, Punjab Vigilance Bureau today gave a clarion call to the people of the state to launch complaints regarding corruption by public servants at its toll free number 1800-1800-1000.

Revealing this here today, Chief Director Vigilance Bureau Mr.B.K.Uppal said that the corruption by public servants would not be tolerated at any cost and such complaints can be launched at this toll free number in public interest. He further informed that this toll free number would be operational at the headquarters of Vigilance Bureau for 12 hours from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.

Mr. Uppal further added that anyone can call at this toll free number to complaint against public servant demanding illegal gratification in cash or kind for performing any legitimate official work, public servant misusing official position, public servant misappropriating government funds and causing loss to the state exchequer, any financial irregularity or embezzlement noticed in ongoing development project, and substandard material being used in project of any state government department besides informing regarding corrupt government officials.

Chief Director Vigilance Bureau appealed the people of Punjab to co-operate with Vigilance Bureau and report corruption in government offices on this toll free number to eliminate this menace from the state.
