PUNJAB SCHOOLS TO HAVE CURRICULUM ON CBSE PATTERN: SONI
Chandigarh/SAS Nagar, October 5, 2018: Punjab Education Minister Mr.O.P.Soni has said that Punjab Schools to be equipped with the curriculum on the CBSE pattern. He directed the school education authorities to form a Committee to prepare the syllabus, so that burden from our children could be reduced by imparting them qualitative education coupled with new techniques. He also instructed the education department and school education board officials to start regular checking in schools by dividing schools of the state into four zones and the formation of the checking teams should be on board and education department officials' based. During the meeting of Education Department and School Board officials in the board office in Mohali, Mr. Soni said that the checking of schools should be done once a week and this campaign should be started from the border areas. He asked about the preparation of examinations and directed the board officials that the examination center should be set up in this manner so that the students do not have to travel more than three to five kilometers. On this occasion, the Education Minister said that he was making efforts to get the expenses from the Punjab government for printing textbooks and the money will be released soon. He also directed the officials to bring the infrastructure in the schools at par with ultra modern schools. He categorically said that the tenders should be allotted to empanelled central agency and the work of one district should be given to only one agency so that the standard of work would be maintained. On this occasion Secretary Education Department Mr. Krishan Kumar, Chairman of Education Board Mr. Manohar Kant klohiya, DPI. (Secondary) Sukhjit Pal Singh, DPI (Elementary) Inderjit Singh, Education Minister's OSD DS Sroa and other officers were present. Later, he met the delegation of Punjab School Education Board Karamchari Association and assured to fulfill all legitimate demands.
