Punjab Public Service Commission Invites Online Applications For PCS Combined Competitive Examinations

Chandigarh, September 9, 2015: The Punjab Public Service Commission has invited online applications for 101 posts of Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examinations-2015 (PSCSCCE).
Giving break-up of the posts an official spokesman of the Commission said that out of total 101 posts, PCS Executive would be 16, DSP,18, ETOs, 23, Tehsildar-09, Food Supply and Consumer Affairs Officer-04, Block Development and Panchayat Officers-10, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies-11, one post each of Labour-cum-Conciliation Officer and Employment Generation and Training Officer and Deputy Superintendent Jails/District Probation Officer Grade 2 -08. He also said that the number of posts may be increased or decreased by the government at any time before the selection process ids completed without giving any prior notice to the candidate. The last date for submission of the forms is October 5, 2015 at http://ppsc.gov.in. The candidates are nor required to send the hard copy of the online application form to the office of Punjab Public Service Commission.
Referring to the qualifications, he said that a candidate should possess a bachelors’ degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution along with Punjabi as a language in Matric. However, a candidate would be permitted to take Preliminary Competitive Examination while studying for his degree. 
The Spokesman further said that the minimum and maximum age limit for appearing in the examinations has been fixed at 21 years to 37 years as on January 1, 2015. In case of the candidates appearing for the posts of DSP (PPS) and deputy Superintendent Jails/ District Probation Officer (Grade- 2), the minimum and maximum age limit was fixed 21 years to 28 years. In case of  in-service candidates with Punjab government , other state governments or the Government of India, including Boards, Corporations, Public Sector Undertaking the upper age limit may be relaxed up to 45 years. However no age relaxation for the Punjab Police Services, he added.
He further said that the Upper Age Limit may be relaxed up to 33 years for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled castes and Backward Classes of Punjab only in case of Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prisons Services. The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 42 years for scheduled castes and backward classes of Punjab only in case of other services except Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prison Services. He further said that the upper age limit may be relaxed up to 42 years for widows/ divorced women and certain other categories of women. Similarly for physically challenged the age limit may be relaxed up to 47 years, he said.
