Punjab to prepare comprehensive plan to save the crops from wild animals in Kandi Belt-Sukhbir Singh Badal

Jhandiyan (Roopnagar), September 11, 2014- Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that state government would prepare a comprehensive plan to save the crops from wild animals in Kandi areas of Roopnagar and Hoshiarpur districts. Besides, he also announced to provide barbed wires on subsidized rates to farmers for fencing around their fields.

After laying the foundation stone of Maharaj Lal Das Brahma Nand Bhurri Wale Community Health centre at Village Jhandiyan along with head of Bhurri Wala Sect Swami Chetna Nand here on Thursday, Mr. Badal said that the farmers of Kandi belt were facing major trouble form wild animals especially pigs that damages their crops. To overcome this problem he announced to call a meeting with wildlife and forest department officials to kick off a campaign for sterilization of pigs also.

Answering a query about the preparations of Shiromani Akali Dal for the upcoming Assembly elections in Haryana state, Deputy CM said that SAD was fully geared up to wipe out scam ridden state congress government from political scenario and candidates from Ambala and Kalanwali assembly constituencies would be announced in next 2 days.

Talking about the memorandum presented by Swami Chetna Nand, Badal also announced to construct 18 feet roads from Bunga to Noorpur Bedi at a cost of Rs. 8 crore and Tibba Tapriyan to Kanpur Khuhi within a year. He also informed that a new bus service would also be started after the construction of these roads.

On the demand of providing drinking water facility in Kandi area, Badal said that in next year 200 deep tubewells would be installed that would provide free water drinking water in all villages in the semi hilly areas. Deputy CM also approved the project proposal worth Rs. 24 crore to provide safe drinking water to 46 villages that has already been submitted by Education Minister Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema. He also declared that Rs. 20 crore would be spent on augmentation of basic civic amenities in next year. Badal has announced a discretionary grant of Rs. 5 Lakh each for Bhurri Wala Education Trust and Gaushala being run by the Ashram.

Lauding the efforts of Bhurri Wale sect for providing education and health services in backward kandi area, Badal said that Punjab Government would provide all kind of help to this sect.

On the occasion Member Parliament Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra and Education Minister Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema has also addressed the gathering and thanked Deputy Chief Minister for the announcements he made for the public of kandi belt.

Prominent amongst others present on the occassion included Chief Parliamentary Secretary Chaudry Nand Lal, SGPC members Amarjit Singh Chawla and Paramjit Singh Lakhewal, Shiromani Akali Dal district president urban Paramjit Singh Makkar, Chairman Central Coopreative Bank Patiala Harinder Singh Chandumajra, Chairman, Education Trust Mahinder Singh Baghi, Deputy Commissioner Tannu Kashyap and SSP Varinderpal Singh.
